IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE WE ARE ALREADY ONE MONTH POST BREAST CANCER 3-DAY.

REALLY...WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?

FUNDRAISING, TRAINING AND WALKING 60-MILES HAS BEEN THE MOST HUMBLING AND INSPIRING EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. I AM SO GRATEFUL I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN SUCH AN EVENT AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE FRIENDSHIPS THAT WERE STRENGTHENED, RENEWED AND CREATED THROUGH ALL OF THIS.

HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE THREE HUNDRED+ PICTURES I HAVE DOCUMENTING THE 'LIFE' OF MY 3-DAY/60 MILE JOURNEY.

A WORLD WITHOUT BREAST CANCER...

THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT WAS PHENOMENAL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE SO EXCITED ABOUT BOOBS AND ANYTHING PINK IN ALL OF MY LIFE.

DEMPSEY SUE; WE LOVE YOU!

Everyone knows...There is another 'CAUSE' that is very near and dear to my heart. (The Dempsey Burdick Memorial Foundation)

In my fundraising & training efforts for Breast Cancer 3-Day; I have had the chance to meet the most amazing and inspiring people.

As of late; I have been working with a sterling silver jewelry company and have begun to implement their company and products in my fundraising events. Kele & Co. is a very charitable minded company and they have been so supportive of my desire to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
(30% of my sales will be donated)

www.keleonline.com

This morning I spent a good deal of time on the phone with Adrienne LeFevre; VP of Business Dev. at Kele & Co., she was extremely helpful and compassionate. We briefly discussed fundraising and then I asked her what it would take to perhaps have a specific and very special item created...

She let me share with her the story of my precious niece; Dempsey Sue. I told her that I had deeply wished to create a "Dempsey" pendant but after taking a metalsmithing class -to do so- realized I lacked the actual ability and/or talent to get the image in my mind effectively on to paper and then create a beautiful piece. (I have the "caveman-like" jewelry I created to prove this!)

I expressed my desire to have something created that would serve as a heartfelt reminder, a gift for those who had lost a child, and perhaps a way to raise funds for the memorial foundation--so we could continue to help other families in need.

Adrienne & Kelly...thank you so very much for allowing me to share my thoughts, ideas and our precious angel; Dempsey, with you.
Thank you for sharing your company, ideas and beautiful jewelry with me!

THINK PINK...

Thanks to the support of some really dedicated friends, my handsome little boys and a charitable minded community...
Last Saturday's Fundraiser was a
SUCCESS!

Jordan throws his arms up in the air and takes 'victory stance' ! He is very pleased with how the event is progressing.

Mishawn, Melanie & Jenny

Three amazing friends come to my aide and offer support!

Melanie & I

Soak up some 'rays' ...

Mel tans...I freckle.

After two hours in the sun (sunscreen applied-of course)...
Melanie became a HOT 'Mocha-Mama'!
As for me...I became ONE GIANT FRECKLE! So, who's HOT NOW! ;-)

It was a lack of sleep, (Mel stayed up all night making stuff for the event--bless her! I stayed up all night baking for the event.) There was a lot of 'pink'! All of us; including Caleb & Jordan, wore the pink beads, bracelets, etc. My boys held signs that said, "Help fight Breast Cancer" and told people that their Mom was walking a lot of miles for "Breasts". Hee! Hee!So cute!
(I wonder...when they get older and actually acknowlege 'BREASTS' as you know...those 'parts' guys like about girls...well if this experience would give them major status with their buddies or if they may never live it down especially the pink beads, etc.?)

Doesn't matter...I couldn't be more proud! I really appreciate them.
They are the BEST kids!

IT WAS A GOOD DAY!

DEAR BREAST CANCER 3-DAY SUPPORTERS:

GREAT NEWS...

cuRe scRubs has committed to help me reach my goal and will donate 100% of their net profits to Breast Cancer 3-Day during this fundraising event!
cuRe scRubs™ are soft, high quality cancer awareness scrubs for breast, ovarian, cervical, uterine, prostate, colon and colorectal cancer. Decorated with the cancer awareness ribbon in each logo, you can show your stand on cancer awareness at work. These scrubs can also mix and match with your current scrubs and they have popular shades with mix and match trim.

Additionally; cuRe scRubs donates 10% of annual profits to The American Cancer Society. Their goal: to help find a cure for all cancers, help raise awareness and aid in education, prevention, treatments, & research.

As most of you know; this year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I will walk 60 miles over the course of three days --with some great friends--and with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

I've agreed to raise a minimum of $2,200 in donations. You can track my progress by clicking on the link to the side or at the bottom of this page.

Friends, I am beyond thrilled and amazed at the generosity of this company. I would like to thank them for their contributions by initiating awareness of the great work that they are trying to do for breast cancer and all other types of cancer. Please help me create some ‘buzz’ about cuRe scRubs and help them reach their goals while they so generously assist me and the 3-Day Organization in reaching ours.

Please visit their website to purchase your set(s):

If you know of other medical professionals or 'scrub lovers' (like me) who would be interested in participating in this important fundraising event please share this message with them. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

I sincerely appreciate your time and your support. Thank you!

Blessings,

Allie
